Another victory for Pedro Lencart. The young golfer was the winner of the R. S. Yeatman Cup, one of the oldest and most prestigious events in the calendar of his ‘home club’, the Miramar Golf Club, and scoring for the Federation rankings Cashback World and National BPI. Played in two rounds in stroke play, and with a luxury ‘field’ between 78 starting players, the tournament was played in mid-August. The victory allowed Lencart to accumulate 300 points and overtake Daniel da Costa Rodrigues, also from Miramar, in first place on the Gold Ranking of the Cashback World Circuit, with 1,095 points, against 1,080 for “Dani.” At the same time, he reinforced the leadership in the National BPI Ranking. With rounds of 65 and 67, for a total of 132 (-8), Lencart won by 5 strokes over absolute National Vice-champion Pedro Silva (Miramar), who shot 137 (68-69). They were the only two players under par 70 for the course in the aggregate. Diogo Mealha (Porto Golf Club) was third with 141 (71-70), followed by National Champion Daniel da Costa Rodrigues (72-71), from Miramar, and Afonso Girão (71-72), from Porto, both with 143 (+3).

For Pedro Lencart, absolute National Champion in 2016 and 2018, this was the first title after the return of Federation competitions, he who, before the stop by the pandemic, in March, had won the 1st Cashback World Circuit Tournament and was runner-up at the International Amateur of Portugal, in both cases at Montado Hotel & Golf Resort.

Jogada em duas voltas em strokeplay, e com um ‘field’ de luxo entre 78 jogadores iniciais, a prova foi disputada a meio de agosto. A vitória permitiu a Lencart amealhar 300 pontos e ultrapassar Daniel da Costa Rodrigues, também de Miramar, no primeiro lugar do Ranking Ouro do Circuito Cashback World, com 1.095 pontos, contra os 1.080 de “Dani”. Isto ao mesmo tempo que reforçou a liderança no Ranking Nacional BPI.

Com ‘scores’ de 65 e 67, para um total de 132 (-8), Lencart ganhou com 5 pancadas de vantagem sobre o vice-campeão nacional absoluto Pedro Silva (Miramar), que perfez 137 (68-69). Foram os únicos dois jogadores abaixo do Par 70 do campo no agregado.

Diogo Mealha (Oporto Golf Club) foi terceiro com 141 (71-70), seguido do campeão nacional Daniel da Costa Rodrigues (72-71), de Miramar, e Afonso Girão (71-72), do Oporto, ambos com 143 (+3).

Para Pedro Lencart, campeão nacional absoluto em 2016 e 2018, este foi o primeiro título após o regresso das competições federativas, ele que antes da paragem pela pandemia, em Março, havia vencido o 1.º Torneio Circuito Cashback World e sido vice-campeão no Internacional Amador de Portugal, em ambos os casos no Montado Hotel & Golf Resort.
