CAMPEÕES ROYAL CARIBBEAN
The National Final of the Cruise Royal Caribbean circuit, the biggest match-play competition that takes place in Portugal, took place on the Salgados course (Albufeira), with the 13 finalists selected, in both categories. Eduardo Lima won in the 1st category, after a play-off with three competitors. Lima won on the first hole (10) with a birdie, followed by Tiago Costa and José Cândido de Oliveira. In the 2nd category, Patrícia Matias, from Costa Alentejana GC, won. The match-play circuit, organized by CN Sports, brought together 320 players across the country. The two champions were invited on a Mediterranean cruise, between June 12 and 19, on the Wonder of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world. The day after the final, the Royal Caribbean Sponsors Invitational took place, also in Salgados, with 60 players from all over the country. The highlight was the hole-in-one obtained by the young Lucas Azinheiro (the lowest handicap in the competition, together with Ricardo Pereira) on the 12th hole (par 3 of 115 meters). He played a pitching wedge.
The Gross winner was Ricardo Pereira with 36 points and in Net Luís Filipe Luís also had 36 points. The prizes were distributed during lunch at the Hotel Nau S. Rafael (Albufeira), with a highlight of a trip to Istanbul (offered by Turkish Airlines), which Tiago Costa won in a raffle.
AFinal Nacional do circuito Cruzeiro Royal Caribbean, a maior competição em match-play que se realiza em Portugal, decorreu no percurso dos Salgados (Albufeira), com os 13 finalistas apurados, nas duas categorias.
Na 1ª categoria ganhou Eduardo Lima, depois de um play-off com três concorrentes. Lima ganhou no primeiro buraco (10) com um birdie, ficando a seguir Tiago Costa e José Cândido de Oliveira. Na 2ª categoria venceu Patrícia Matias, do CG Costa Alentejana. O circuito de match-play, organizado pela CN Sports, reuniu 320 jogadores em todo o País. Os dois campeões foram convidados para um cruzeiro no Mediterrâneo, entre 12 e 19 de junho, no Wonder of the Seas, o maior navio de cruzeiros do mundo.
No dia seguinte à final realizou-se o Royal Caribbean Sponsors Invitational, também nos Salgados, com 60 jogadores de todo o país. O destaque foi para o hole-in-one obtido pelo jovem Lucas Azinheiro (o handicap mais baixo em prova, juntamente com Ricardo Pereira) no buraco 12 (par 3 com 115 metros). Jogou um pitch. O vencedor Gross foi Ricardo Pereira com 36 pontos e em Net ganhou Luís Filipe Luís também com 36 pontos. Os prémios foram distribuídos durante o almoço no Hotel Nau S. Rafael (Albufeira), com destaque para uma viagem a Istambul (oferta da Turkish Airlines), que coube em sorteio a Tiago Costa.
