THE GOLF CUP UNITEL BFA

The stage for the Final of this year’s edition of The Golf Cup Unitel BFA has already been chosen. The choice, naturally, fell to the Omeya Golf Club in Windhoek, capital of Namibia. It is the third time that the grand final of The Golf Cup Unitel BFA has been played on this course, given the guarantees of quality and professionalism that the entire Omeya team provides for a tournament with this level of demand.

The tournament, which will find the winning team of the eighth edition of this national business championship in Angola, was scheduled to take place this November, but given the pandemic circumstances, it was decided to postpone the event to February next year.

The Final will feature 12 teams (24 players), who have qualified through the four qualifying stages played at Mangais Golf Resort, in Barra do Kwanza, on July 17th, September 25th and October 16th and 30th.

In each tournament, the three best teams were selected, always in an atmosphere of great competition and conviviality. In all four stages, as has always happened throughout the eight editions of The Golf Cup Unitel BFA, the field sold out, with 36 teams (72 players), leaving a lot of teams on the waiting list.

This year was no exception, and not even the health context – which, moreover, attracted special attention from the organization with tests at all tournaments (fortunately without any positive cases) – confirmed the enthusiasm and interest with which golfers look at this circuit.

Not only for the sporting appearance, but also for the ‘networking’ it makes possible. Just look at the diversity of companies that signed up and the nationalities of the players: six different in the final, and 14 throughout the year. The organization is already preparing for next year’s edition, whose stages will take place in the same months as 2021. There will be a greater focus on proximity to the sponsors, with more rewards and an increase and diversity of communication formats for all partners.

Já está escolhido o palco da Final da edição deste ano do The Golf Cup Unitel BFA. A escolha, natural, recaiu no Omeya Golf Clube em Windhoek, capital da Namíbia. É a terceira vez que a grande final do The Golf Cup Unitel BFA é disputada neste campo, dadas as garantias de qualidade e profissionalismo que toda a equipa do Omeya garantem a um torneio com este nível de exigência.

O torneio, que vai encontrar a equipa vencedora da oitava edição deste campeonato nacional de empresa de Angola, estava previsto realizar-se este mês de novembro, mas dadas as circunstâncias pandémicas, foi decidido adiar a decisão para Fevereiro do próximo ano. A Final vai contar com a presença de 12 equipas (24 jogadores), que se apuraram através das quatro etapas de qualificação jogadas no Mangais Golf Resort, na Barra do Kwanza, em Julho (dia 17), Setembro (25) e Outubro (16 e 30). Em cada torneio, apuraram-se as três melhores equipas, sempre em num clima de grande competição e convívio. Em todas as quatro etapas, como de resto tem acontecido sempre ao longo das oito edições do The Golf Cup Unitel BFA, o ‘field’ esgotou, com 36 equipas (72 jogadores), ficando equipas em lista de espera.

Este ano não foi excepção, e nem o contexto sanitário – que de resto motivou especial atenção da parte da organização com testagens em todos os torneios (felizmente sem qualquer caso positivo) – contrariou o entusiasmo e interesse com que os golfistas olham para este circuito. Não só pelo aspecto desportivo, mas também pelo ‘networking’ que possibilita. Basta olhar para a diversidade de empresas inscritas e para as nacionalidades dos jogadores: seis diferentes na final, e 14 ao longo do ano. A organização já está a preparar a edição do próximo ano, cujas etapas vão decorrer nos mesmos meses da de 2021. Será feita uma maior aposta na proximidade com os patrocinadores, com mais contrapartidas e um aumento e diversidade dos formatos de comunicação para todos os parceiros.
