BENAMOR: SCANDINAVIAN VINI CUP
Benamor Golfe opened its events calendar with the Scandinavian Vini Cup, the first of seven special club tournaments that will run until November, all with a special lunch menu and each sponsored by a wine brand. This annual circuit aims to promote, through golf, Portuguese gastronomy and wines, especially from the Algarve.
Before the prize distribution lunch, participants had a welcome cocktail and during the repast each dish was accompanied by a wine, first with two whites and at the end, for meat and cheeses, two reds also from the Algarve Quinta do Francês.
The tournament, in greensomes pairs, had the participation of 42 teams and took place with good weather. In Gross, the champions were Kent Backman and Leif Enebrink with 30 points, beating José Cautela and Kevin Neto, also with 30, in the tiebreaker. In Net, the winners were Hans Dahlman and Anna-Lena Hammar with 44 points, followed by Ola Hofseth and Sherry Santa Clara 43 and Thomas Lillie and Joan Lillie also 43.
The next tournament will be in March (single stableford), with Monte da Bonança wines, followed by the 11th Benamor Classic on April 9 (texas scramble) and the support of Quinta S. João Batista.
OBenamor Golfe abriu o seu calendário de eventos com a Scandinavian Vini Cup, primeiro de sete torneios especiais do clube que vão decorrer até novembro, todos com um menu especial para o almoço e cada um patrocinado por uma marca de vinhos. Este circuito anual pretende promover, através do golfe, a gastronomia e os vinhos portugueses, em especial do Algarve. Antes do almoço de distribuição dos prémios os participantes tiveram um cocktail de boas-vindas e durante o repasto cada prato foi acompanhado de um vinho, primeiro com dois brancos e no final, para a carne e queijos, dois tintos também da algarvia Quinta do Francês.
O torneio, em pares greensomes, teve a participação de 42 equipas e decorreu com bom tempo. Em gross os campeões foram Kent Backman e Leif Enebrink com 30 pontos, vencendo no desempate José Cautela e Kevin Neto, também com 30. Em net os vencedores foram Hans Dahlman e Anna-Lena Hammar com 44 pontos, seguidos de Ola Hofseth e Sherry Santa Clara 43 e Thomas Lillie e Joan Lillie também com 43.
O próximo torneio será a 12 de março (stableford individual), com os vinhos do Monte da Bonança, seguindo-se o 11º Benamor Classic a 9 de abril (texas scramble) e o apoio da Quinta S. João Batista.
