The National Associatio­n of Seniors Golf Portugal (ANSGP) has once again demonstrat­ed its vitality by presenting 16 players among the 72 registered in the Absolute National Golf Federation National B&P Championsh­ip.

The event, which took place on two days at the end of April, at the Jamor Championsh­ip Course, was won by Hugo Espírito Santo, just one stroke ahead of the second-placed, Pedro Franco Dias, from ANSGP.

With a course full of good players from all corners of the country, 36 holes were played on the first day, to make the cut for Sunday. At the end of the first two rounds, the lead belonged to the young man from Miramar João Ivo de Carvalho (13 years old) with 12 under par, followed closely by Hugo Espirito Santo (-11) and Pedro Franco Dias (-10). With the cut at +3, ANSGP put seven players among the 28 finalists, who watched a great showdown between Hugo Espírito Santo and Pedro Franco Dias, until the last hole.

The remaining seniors were Albino Timóteo (10th classified, -5), Fernando Sequeira (11th, -3), Paulo Azevedo (17th, +3), Carlos Valente (21st, +6), Manuel Baptista (25. º, +9) and Victor Saramago (26th, +10).

AAssociaçã­o Nacional de Seniores Golfe Portugal (ANSGP) demonstrou mais uma vez a sua vitalidade ao apresentar 16 jogadores entre os 72 inscritos no Campeonato Nacional Absoluto de P&P da Federação Portuguesa de Golfe.

O evento, que decorreu em dois dias no final de abril, no Championsh­ip Course do Jamor, foi conquistad­a por Hugo Espírito Santo, com apenas uma pancada de vantagem sobre o segundo classifica­do, Pedro Franco Dias, da ANSGP.

Com um field recheado de bons jogadores de todos os cantos do País, no primeiro dia foram jogados 36 buracos, para fazer o cut para domingo. No final das primeiras duas voltas, a liderança pertencia ao jovem de Miramar João Ivo de Carvalho (13 anos) com 12 abaixo do par, seguido de perto por Hugo Espirito Santo (-11) e por Pedro Franco Dias (-10).

Com o cut em +3, a ANSGP colocou sete jogadores entre os 28 finalistas, que assistiram uma grande disputa entre Hugo Espírito Santo e Pedro Franco Dias, até ao último buraco. Os restantes seniores foram Albino Timóteo (10º classifica­do, -5), Fernando Sequeira (11º, -3), Paulo Azevedo (17.º, +3), Carlos Valente (21.º, +6), Manuel Baptista (25.º, +9) e Victor Saramago (26.º, +10).
