BENAMOR 12TH CLASSIC

The Portuguese João Miquelina and the Swedish Christina Larsson, in Net, and the Swedish Kent Backman, in Gross, were the winners of the 12th Benamor Classic, which brought together 60 players and was part of the celebratio­ns of the 22nd anniversar­y of Benamor Golfe (Tavira).

This was the second of the club’s seven season tournament­s, all under the theme “passion for golf with the flavors and aromas of our cuisine and wines.” This time the sponsor was the “Monte da Bonança,” estate which presented its white and red wines for the fish and meat dishes at the prize distributi­on lunch, ending with a special red reserve to accompany the birthday cake.

The Gross winner was the Swedish Kent Backman with 29 points, while the British Patricia Marsh won the Ladies with 23. In Net the champion was the Portuguese João Miquelina (Alentejo Coast) with 36 points, followed by the Swedish Christer Freander and the Dutch Huibert Dunki-Jacobs, both 35.

The Women’s event was won by the Swedish Christina Larsson with 40 points, followed by the Dutch Marijke Scholtes with 37 and the Swedish Anna Lena Hammar with 36.

O português João Miquelina e a sueca Christina Larsson, em Net, e o sueco Kent Backman, em Gross, foram os vencedores do 12º Benamor Classic, que reuniu 60 jogadores e se integrou nas comemoraçõ­es do 22º aniversári­o do Benamor Golfe (Tavira).

Este foi o segundo dos sete torneios da temporada do clube, todos com o tema “paixão pelo golfe com os sabores e aromas da nossa cozinha e vinhos”. Agora o apoio foi da herdade “Monte da Bonança”, que apresentou os seus vinhos brancos e tintos para os pratos de peixe e carne do almoço de distribuiç­ão dos prémios, terminando com um tinto especial reserva para acompanhar o bolo de aniversári­o. O vencedor Gross foi o sueco Kent Backman com 29 pontos, enquanto nas senhoras venceu a britânica Patricia Marsh com 23. Em Net o campeão foi o português João Miquelina (Costa Alentejana) com 36 pontos, seguido do sueco Christer Freander e do holandês Huibert Dunki-Jacobs, ambos com 35. A prova feminina foi ganha pela sueca Christina Larsson com 40 pontos, seguida da holandesa Marijke Scholtes 37 e da sueca Anna Lena Hammar com 36.
