CASTRO MARIM: KINGS DAY
Castro Marim Golf & Country Club hosted Koningsdag Day, the traditional tournament commemorating the King of Holland’s Day, which in the last two years has not been held due to the pandemic.
The tournament, by teams and in Texas scramble format, brought together 80 players, most of them resident foreigners and wearing orange clothes, the Dutch color. In each edition of this annual tournament there is always a “Fun Hole,” a “par 3” where the tee shot is normal, after an orange drink, but the conclusion on the green is always different. This year the final shots on the hole were with snooker balls and cues. The triumph belonged to the team Mick Cunningham, John Morris, Mick Mooney and Gillian Schultz with 55 Net shots, followed by another team of foreign residents with 56 shots (Peter Westera, Henk Bons, Adrian Eves and Thomas Multhaup). In third place was a Portuguese-Spanish team: Nuno Louro, Olga Karasik, Manuel Teixeira and Ignácio Fierro with 57, followed by the Portuguese Fernando Folha, Idalécio João, Luciano Sousa and Carlos Silva, with 58 shots.
The special prizes went to Idalécio João (closest) and Elner Arnaud (longest). The nine awards were distributed during the lively lunch, and the team with the most originality was also distinguished.
OCastro Marim Golf & Country Club promoveu o Koningsdag Day, o tradicional torneio comemorativo do Dia do Rei da Holanda, que nos últimos dois anos não se realizou devido à pandemia.
O torneio, por equipas e em texas scramble, reuniu 80 jogadores, a maioria estrangeiros residentes e envergando roupas de cor laranja, as cores holandesas. Em cada edição deste torneio anual há sempre um “Fun Hole”, um “par 3” onde a saída é normal, depois de uma bebida alaranjada, mas a conclusão no green é sempre diferente. Este ano a decisão final do buraco foi com bolas e tacos de snooker.
O triunfo pertenceu à equipa Mick Cunningham, John Morris, Mick Mooney e Gillian Schultz com 55 pancadas net, seguindo-se outra equipa de estrangeiros residentes com 56 pancadas (Peter Westera, Henk Bons, Adrian Eves e Thomas Multhaup).
No terceiro lugar ficou uma equipa luso-espanhola: Nuno Louro, Olga Karasik, Manuel Teixeira e Ignácio Fierro com 57, seguidos dos portugueses Fernando Folha, Idalécio João, Luciano Sousa e Carlos Silva, com 58 pancadas.
Os prémios especiais foram para Idalécio João (bola mais perto) e Elner Arnaud (pancada mais longa). Os nove prémios foram distribuídos durante o animado almoço de convívio, tendo sido distinguida também a equipa vestida com mais originalidade.
