IN THE AZORES IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE

Golf in the Azores is made up of three magnificent golf courses. Two on the beautiful island of São Miguel: Batalha Golf Course with 27 holes and Furnas Golf Course with 18 holes. On Terceira Island we present another 18 holes, in what is considered the most popular golf course in the country, taking into account the penetration of the sport among the local population. Perhaps it is the result of the influence of the North Americans, who built a military base there after World War II and to entertain the military contingent they built the first 18-hole course on our islands. When the reader is enjoying this publication, the annual PRO AM of the Terceira Island Golf Club will be completing 40 springs of golf and fun. It’s the biggest golf event in the Azores.

But the party doesn’t stop there, in the summer season of São Martinho, November 12th and 13th, Batalha Golf Course will host the final of the Expresso BPI Golf Cup, the biggest corporate tournament in the country, this year with the flavor of Silver. Furnas Golf Course was mentioned in the prestigious Blog Trip Advisor: Golf Around the World as a course not to be missed in Portugal, which leaves us very satisfied.

Ogolfe nos Açores é composto por três magníficos campos de golfe. Dois na linda ilha de São Miguel: o Batalha Golf Course com 27 buracos e o Furnas Golf Course com 18 buracos. Na Ilha Terceira apresentamos mais 18 buracos, naquele que é considerado o campo de golfe mais popular do país, tendo em conta a penetração da modalidade entre a população local.

Talvez seja fruto da influência dos norte-americanos, que ali construíram uma base militar a seguir à II Guerra Mundial, e para entreter o contingente militar construíram o primeiro percurso de 18 buracos nas nossas ilhas. Quando o leitor estiver a saborear esta publicação, o PRO AM anual do Clube de Golfe da Ilha Terceira estará a completar 40 primaveras de golfe e diversão. É a maior festa do golfe nos Açores. Mas a festa não fica por aí, em tempo de Verão de São Martinho, 12 e 13 de Novembro, o Batalha Golf Course irá receber a final do Expresso BPI Golf Cup, o maior torneio corporate do país, este ano com sabor a Bodas de Prata. O Furnas Golf Course foi referenciado no Blog prestigiada Trip Advisor: Golf Around the World como um campo a não perder em Portugal, que nos deixa muito satisfeitos.
