We're back. It's always a pleasure to welcome you. The pandemic, which has devastated the world, took us all by surprise and forced us to urgently adapt to new times and a new world, where the rise of a new consciousness is imperative.

With the exception of a few hotels, which we proudly kept open to accommodate doctors and nurses who heroically saved so many lives on the front lines, we closed all the others in a flash. Our greatest concern was not to leave anyone behind. Especially our thousands of dedicated workers and hundreds of suppliers who were very dependent on us. At the same time, we couldn't help but support health services and professionals in combating the pandemic. From the provision of meals and clothes, and making our hotel rooms available, to the donation of 20 ventilators. From the Americas, from south to north, Africa, Madeira, the Azores and Great Britain to Continental Europe including the Iberian Peninsula and centre, we practiced with great pleasure, solidarity, a feeling imprinted indelibly in the Pestana Hotel Group's DNA. Also, when we were closing, we created a multinational and multidisciplinary “think tank” to prepare the guidelines to ensure that we would all be safe and confident when we reopened the hotels. Now, the moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived - to welcome our guests, with our usual smile!

The situation demanded changes in the hotels, in the way we welcome guests, in the procedures we already had in place and even in the way we communicate.
