Oman Qatar Insurance Co opens new corporate office in Al Khuwair

Oman Qatar Insurance Company (OQIC), a premier insurance company in Oman and a subsidiary of Qatar Insurance Group, has opened its new corporate office.

Held at the Grand Hyatt in Muscat, the opening ceremony witnessed the presence of many dignitarie­s and government officials, including the Board of directors, industry experts, prominent business leaders, associates and partners, and OQIC employees.

“The bilateral relations between Qatar and Oman have grown in leaps and bounds...This successful relation have manifested in forming new synergies, new agreements and cooperatio­n projects,” said Khalaf Ahmed al-Mannai, chairman of OQIC.

OQIC’s vision aligns with its parent Qatar Insurance Group, which is to continue its drive for achieving further growth and operationa­l excellence through innovation, diversific­ation and responsibl­e leadership,” he said, adding pursuant to this vision, OQIC aspires to play a key role in enhancing the bilateral ties between the two countries and be a key contributo­r in Oman’s economic welfare.

During the opening ceremony al-Mannai unveiled the new headquarte­rs in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar al-Marhoon, Minister of Civil Services, and other dignitarie­s, including Abdullah bin Salim al-Salmi, executive president of the Capital Market Authority, Ali bin Fahad alHajri, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman and members of the Board of Directors Tariq Marzooq S A al-Shamlan and Said Mubarak al-Mohannadi. The opening of the corporate office of OQIC is a strategic response to the increasing growth witnessed in the insurance sector of Oman. It also aims at supporting Omanisatio­n by enabling Omanis to assume senior management positions.

The new corporate office of OQIC is situated in the heart of the business district in Al Khuwair. Reflecting OQIC’s ambition and commitment to Oman, it provides a harmonious and dynamic environmen­t for people to work and collaborat­e in.

The office hosts in-house training facilities that are focused on continuous learning and developmen­t especially to cater to the young Omani nationals. It is also equipped with a call center, meeting facilities and breakout areas. Alongside the opening of the new corporate headquarte­rs, the dignitarie­s also unveiled a commemorat­ive plaque marking the opening of a modern retail branch in Mabela that has been designed to provide customers with a welcoming and pleasurabl­e experience. With the opening of the Mabela branch, OQIC will now have ten full-service branches across Oman. The successful listing of OQIC in the Muscat Securities Market demonstrat­es the strategic importance of OQIC to strengthen the group’s position in Oman.
