Chamber moves ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition opening to Dec 3
Private sector leader Qatar Chamber has rescheduled the opening of its ‘Made in Qatar’ 2018 edition in Muscat, Oman, scheduled to be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibitions Centre, to December 3, it was announced yesterday. According to board member and head of the chamber’s Industry Committee, Rashid bin Nasser al-Kaabi, the event will witness the participation of 240 Qatari companies. The event is organised by the Chamber in co-operation with the Ministry of Energy, Qatar Development Bank, and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Al-Kaabi said the exhibition will be held outside the country for the second time, and aims to open new platforms for Qatari and Omani companies to exchange expertise and to promote ‘Made in Qatar’ products to Oman.
On the sidelines of the event, al-Kaabi said more than 100 leading businessmen will participate in the ‘Qatari-Omani Business Forum” to review investment and business opportunities available in both the countries.
Al-Kaabi lauded the “strong relations”
between the countries, especially in economic and trade co-operation. He noted that trade volume “achieved consecutive leaps in a short period” and that Oman was the top destination of Qatar’s non-oil exports in 2018.
“Qatari businessmen are keenly interested to identify the industrial investment opportunities available in Oman,” he pointed out.
