The Qatar Mobility Innovations Centre (QMIC), one of the leading local institutions using local R&D to create scalable digital industries in the country, has revealed several smart digital solutions developed here and ready for implementation on a regional and global scale during the four-day ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition being held in Oman until December 6.

QMIC has demonstrated an integrated digital eco-system that uses data to enable smart and safe living. As part of this, QMIC announced the availability of its newest and enhanced version of its cornerstone Internet of Things Enablement platform – Labeeb-IoT.

This update presents many improved features, deployment flexibility capabilities, and performance enhancements that add depth and efficiency to the user experience and the developer community.

Labeeb-IoT is the first locally-developed IoT platform in the region and can enable cities, enterprises, and entrepreneurs develop and deliver smart solutions that use sensor data. Additionally, QMIC showcased a comprehensive digital IoT eco-system that comprises diverse data sources, a comprehensive IoT Platform, and solutions developed by QMIC and by QMIC’s partners. With the knowledge that the team has built over the years in the field of smart cities and IoT, QMIC is able to provide full support to its partners in developing their smart solutions and leveraging QMIC’s tools and platforms.

QMIC also revealed a group of its own IoT solutions across different sectors and fields that include ‘Predictive Maintenance’ in support of the industrial sector, ‘PhoneMatics’ in support of road safety and transport, and an innovative heat index monitoring solution, in addition to many others. This showcases the diverse power of this technology and the benefits it presents to various industries and market sectors.

MIC executive director Dr Adnan Abu-Dayya said, “We are pleased to participate in the ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition in Oman. This is a great chance to showcase our digital platforms and solutions which are fully developed in Qatar. Also we are happy to have reached a point where digital technologies and solutions developed in Qatar can be exported to regional and global markets.

“We wish to thank our customers and partners who helped us successfully build an innovations model, optimised for Qatar and the region by integrating R&D with solution development and market delivery capabilities.”

QMIC is showcasing its latest R&D capabilities in the four-day ‘Made in Qatar’ Oman edition.
