Doha Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India celebrates Chartered Accountants Day.
A professional seminar on ‘Managing at Challenging Times’ was recently conducted at The Westin, Doha, on occasion of Chartered Accountants(CA) Day by Doha Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Around 150 finance professionals, in senior positions and stake holders in various businesses and organisations across Qatar, attended the event.
The speaker was Jaafar Ali Jaffar al-Sarraf, who commenced his presentation by explaining how successful people have turned the challenges into opportunities.
In an interactive presentation and with real life examples, he explained to the audience how business challenges could be met through market penetration, product development, market development and diversification strategy. He emphasised that the people and the customers were the two important aspect and would always be the biggest competitive edge for any enterprise.
Being a leadership facilitator, Jaafar demonstrated to the finance professionals the ways to mitigate the internal and external challenges especially the present political challenges faced by the country.
Rupalakshmi Setty, Chairperson of ICAI Doha Chapter, wished the members for CA Day. She presented an outline of events undertaken by Doha Chapter till date and made an important announcement to the members that Doha was now an exam centre for ICAI which would conduct foundation, IPCC and final examinations with effect from November 2018 examinations.
On account of CA Day, which marks Platinum Jubilee celebration of ICAI, Doha Chapter released the half yearly e-magazine. Rupalakshmi also took the opportunity to launch the theme of the fifth annual international conference ‘Sustainability & Growth in the Digital Era’ to be held on October 25 and 26 2018. The conference will have business leaders and other professional speakers from across the glob, deliberating on the theme.
Dr R Seetharaman was a special guest invited to attend the event and was welcomed by Rukkaiya Pachisa, Vice Chairperson. Addressing the members on CA Day, Dr Seetharaman spoke on disruptive challenges and ways to mitigate them. The event was concluded by cakecutting ceremony led by Dr R Seetharaman and the speaker in presence of all the members and guests.
