QOC winter camp hosts first Beach Cricket Championship
The winter camp of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) hosted the first under-14 Beach Cricket Championship on Friday. The winter camp was organised in co-operation with the National Tourism Council at Sealine Beach. The championship featured the participation of 10 schools represented by 120 students. Pak Shama School team (Red) claimed the title. The other Pak Shamaa School Team (Green) finished second ahead of Bravo Academy in the third place.
Mohamed Abdullah al-Meer, Head of the QOC accounts section honoured the winning teams as the QOC allocated valuable prize money for the winners. Al-Meer hailed the success of the championship and wide participation of the students in the event. “The success of the championship will motivate us to organise more similar championships and community activities” He said. “The camp provides the perfect setting for families and friends to experience a wide range of sports and entertainment activities,” he added. Al-Meer also extended his thanks for the officials of the Qatar Cricket Association for their contribution to this success.
