QOC win­ter camp hosts first Beach Cricket Cham­pi­onship

The win­ter camp of the Qatar Olympic Com­mit­tee (QOC) hosted the first un­der-14 Beach Cricket Cham­pi­onship on Fri­day. The win­ter camp was or­gan­ised in co-op­er­a­tion with the Na­tional Tourism Coun­cil at Sealine Beach. The cham­pi­onship fea­tured the par­tic­i­pa­tion of 10 schools rep­re­sented by 120 stu­dents. Pak Shama School team (Red) claimed the ti­tle. The other Pak Shamaa School Team (Green) fin­ished sec­ond ahead of Bravo Acad­emy in the third place.

Mo­hamed Ab­dul­lah al-Meer, Head of the QOC ac­counts sec­tion hon­oured the win­ning teams as the QOC al­lo­cated valu­able prize money for the win­ners. Al-Meer hailed the suc­cess of the cham­pi­onship and wide par­tic­i­pa­tion of the stu­dents in the event. “The suc­cess of the cham­pi­onship will mo­ti­vate us to or­gan­ise more sim­i­lar cham­pi­onships and com­mu­nity ac­tiv­i­ties” He said. “The camp pro­vides the per­fect set­ting for fam­i­lies and friends to ex­pe­ri­ence a wide range of sports and en­ter­tain­ment ac­tiv­i­ties,” he added. Al-Meer also ex­tended his thanks for the of­fi­cials of the Qatar Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion for their con­tri­bu­tion to this suc­cess.
