DAZZLING OPENING CEREMONY
The state-of-the-art Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor yesterday welcomed 67,372 fans as hosts Qatar and Ecuador locked horns in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Before the start of the Group A clash of the 32-team event, a spectacular opening ceremony featured Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman alongside Qatari Ghanem al-Muftah. Later, singer Jung Kook of K-pop boy band BTS joined Qatari singer Fahad al-Kubaisi to perform Dreamers, a new tournament song.
