Mowasalat committed to highest levels of services

Mowasalat is committed to implement the highest levels of transport services as part of its continuous efforts to promote traffic safety in the country, chairman Nasser bin Mohamed al-Malki said. He was addressing a conference on traffic accidents and road safety, organised by Mowasalat in co-operation with the Internatio­nal Road Transport Union (IRTU), the General Directorat­e of Traffic and the National Traffic Safety Committee. The two-day conference included panel discussion­s and presentati­ons featuring a range of national and internatio­nal road safety experts. Al-Malki stressed the importance of the transport industry, especially on contributi­on to the overall economic developmen­t. The senior Mowasalat official also explained how their company is working together with relevant stakeholde­rs in the National Traffic Safety Committee to reduce deaths from traffic accidents on the country’s roads. At the meeting, the Ministry of Transport and Communicat­ions (MoTC) is highlighti­ng the transport sector’s role in the non-oil sectors in the country. The Land Transport Licensing Department head Sheikh Nayef bin Abdulrahma­n al-Thani said Qatar has witnessed rapid population growth over the past few years, and it is accompanie­d by strong economic expansion during the years. “Such developmen­ts called for necessitat­ing further developmen­ts and modernisat­ion of the transport infrastruc­ture and providing services of the highest internatio­nal standards,” added the official who is also the acting head of quality at the Department of Land Transport Services at the MoTC.
