Mowasalat committed to highest levels of services
Mowasalat is committed to implement the highest levels of transport services as part of its continuous efforts to promote traffic safety in the country, chairman Nasser bin Mohamed al-Malki said. He was addressing a conference on traffic accidents and road safety, organised by Mowasalat in co-operation with the International Road Transport Union (IRTU), the General Directorate of Traffic and the National Traffic Safety Committee. The two-day conference included panel discussions and presentations featuring a range of national and international road safety experts. Al-Malki stressed the importance of the transport industry, especially on contribution to the overall economic development. The senior Mowasalat official also explained how their company is working together with relevant stakeholders in the National Traffic Safety Committee to reduce deaths from traffic accidents on the country’s roads. At the meeting, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) is highlighting the transport sector’s role in the non-oil sectors in the country. The Land Transport Licensing Department head Sheikh Nayef bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said Qatar has witnessed rapid population growth over the past few years, and it is accompanied by strong economic expansion during the years. “Such developments called for necessitating further developments and modernisation of the transport infrastructure and providing services of the highest international standards,” added the official who is also the acting head of quality at the Department of Land Transport Services at the MoTC.
