MoTC con­ducts in­spec­tion drive for mar­itime safety

The Min­istry of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions (MoTC) yes­ter­day con­ducted an in­spec­tion cam­paign tar­get­ing modes of trans­port by sea with the par­tic­i­pa­tion of the Gen­eral Direc­torate of Coasts and Bor­ders Se­cu­rity and Qatar Tourism Author­ity.

The cam­paign falls within the frame­work of con­tin­u­ous co-op­er­a­tion and co-or­di­na­tion be­tween all bod­ies con­cerned coun­try­wide and aims to en­sure all modes of trans­port of sea fol­low and work in com­pli­ance with all ap­pli­ca­ble laws and reg­u­la­tions, the min­istry has said in a state­ment.

The ini­tia­tive also aims to crack down on vi­o­la­tions and is con­ducted with an eye on en­sur­ing mar­itime safety and se­cu­rity as well as pro­tect­ing lives and prop­erty at sea.

Yes­ter­day’s cam­paign is one in a series of cam­paigns to be con­ducted over the com­ing pe­riod within the frame­work of a plan set by the bod­ies con­cerned to en­sure the high­est lev­els of mar­itime safety and se­cu­rity on Qatari waters.

The ini­tia­tive aims to crack down on vi­o­la­tions and is con­ducted with an eye on en­sur­ing mar­itime safety and se­cu­rity.
