Advisory Council Speaker chairs meeting in Geneva
HE Speaker of the Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud chaired yesterday the consultative meeting for parliament speakers of the Islamic parliamentary group, which is taking place alongside the 139th general assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, QNA reported from Geneva. The five-day general assembly will take place in Geneva starting from today. The Speaker of the Advisory Council also participated in the consultative meeting of the Arab group. During the two meetings, they discussed issues on the agenda of the general assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. They also exchanged views on some of the demands to add new emergency subjects to the general assembly’s agenda, in addition to discussing taking a unified stand on issues of joint interest. The two meetings were attended by a number of Advisory Council members.
