Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil Speaker chairs meet­ing in Geneva

HE Speaker of the Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil Ahmed bin Ab­dul­lah bin Zaid al-Mah­moud chaired yes­ter­day the con­sul­ta­tive meet­ing for par­lia­ment speak­ers of the Is­lamic par­lia­men­tary group, which is tak­ing place along­side the 139th gen­eral as­sem­bly of the In­ter-Par­lia­men­tary Union, QNA re­ported from Geneva. The five-day gen­eral as­sem­bly will take place in Geneva start­ing from to­day. The Speaker of the Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil also par­tic­i­pated in the con­sul­ta­tive meet­ing of the Arab group. Dur­ing the two meet­ings, they dis­cussed is­sues on the agenda of the gen­eral as­sem­bly of the In­ter-Par­lia­men­tary Union. They also ex­changed views on some of the de­mands to add new emer­gency sub­jects to the gen­eral as­sem­bly’s agenda, in ad­di­tion to dis­cussing tak­ing a uni­fied stand on is­sues of joint in­ter­est. The two meet­ings were at­tended by a num­ber of Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil mem­bers.
