Go pledges infrastructure projects in Butuan

-

Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go gave assurances that the government will give priority to infrastructure and agriculture projects in Butuan to push for the development of the city.

“There’s a plan to start the Mindanao Railway Project that connects Butuan and Tagum to the rest of Mindanao, and this is one of the priorities of the Duterte administration. Second, the free Wifi project in Butuan that targets 127 areas,” Go said.

“There’s also a loan for farmers and fishermen, which we call Production Loan Easy Access. There are other projects lined up under the Build, Build, Build programme,” he added.

Go launched the 13th Malasakit Center in the city to give poor patients easier access to financial and medical assistance.

“We want the free medical services for all to be accessible right away. That’s why we are doing all we can to open, especially to the poor, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, the Malasakit Center,” Go said.

The Malasakit Center is a onestop shop programme of President Rodrigo Duterte to hasten the delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicines.

A fast lane prioritising the senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) is also available.

Under the programme, patients are given financial and medical assistance by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, the Philippine Amusement and Games Corporation, Department of Health, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Pooled together, the assistance from these agencies can greatly reduce the patient’s medical bill.
