Qatar’s key role in Afghan reconciliation highlighted
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi has reaffirmed Qatar’s constructive role in achieving the national reconciliation and peace in Afghanistan through its role as mediator in the Afghan crisis between the conflicting parties, in co-ordination and consultation with its strategic allies.This came as the minister, heads Qatar’s delegation participating in the meeting of foreign ministers of the countries taking part in “The Resolute Support Mission (RSM)”, held yesterday at the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) in Brussels.
In his speech at the meeting, the minister stressed Qatar’s stance in support of maintaining security and achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan, praising the role of Nato and its efforts in building peace and stabilising Afghanistan. The minister reiterated Qatar’s commitment to support efforts to maintain world peace and security. He added that stability and peace in Afghanistan have a bearing on regional and global peace, stressing the importance of uniting regional and international efforts to achieve this.
