Panel to regulate non-Qatari ownership

The Cabinet’s regular meeting, chaired yesterday by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan, approved a draft decision to form a committee to regulate non-Qatari ownership and use of real estate and determine its work system and remunerati­on. The decisions of the meeting were announced by HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi. The Ministry of Justice prepared the draft decision as part of completing the necessary decisions to activate the provisions of Law 16 of 2018 regulating non-Qatari ownership and use of real estate. The draft included the formation of the committee headed by a representa­tive of the Ministry of Justice with the membership of representa­tives of the authoritie­s concerned. In accordance with the provisions of the said law, the committee shall propose areas where non-Qataris are allowed to own and use real estate, the terms and conditions of non-Qatari ownership and use of real estate, the benefits, incentives and facilities granted to property owners and non-Qatari users.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani inaugurate­d the Lusail Marina walkway yesterday.

During a ceremony held on the walkway in Lusail City, HE the prime minister and minister of interior delivered a speech, following which he gave the signal to inaugurate the walkway and launch the accompanyi­ng aquatic shows.

The prime minister then toured the walkway to get acquainted with the latest services and facilities, which have been developed according to worldclass standards.

The prime minister and minister of interior stressed that the inaugurati­on of the Lusail Marina Walkway marks the latest addition to the new tourist attraction­s that characteri­se Qatar and contribute to the efforts to make the country a global tourist des- tination.

The walkway is characteri­sed by the presence of many facilities that make it an attractive destinatio­n for hosting local and internatio­nal events.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Sheikhs and ministers.
