Advisory Council takes part in WTO session
A delegation from the Advisory (Shura) Council is participating in the annual session of the Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) currently being held in Geneva, Switzerland. The conference aims to exchange views, information and experiences and seeks to find future solutions to promote free and fair trade that benefits developing as well as developed countries in addition to means of promoting development and reducing poverty. During the conference, preliminary information will be presented on the latest developments in the Doha negotiations, known as the “Doha Round”, trade negotiations of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), started in November 2001, aimed at realising the principle of free trade between the countries of the world.
z The Advisory (Shura) Council will also participate in the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP24) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), slated for tomorrow in Poland. (QNA)
