Advisory Council takes part in WTO session

A delegation from the Advisory (Shura) Council is participat­ing in the annual session of the Parliament­ary Conference on the World Trade Organisati­on (WTO) currently being held in Geneva, Switzerlan­d. The conference aims to exchange views, informatio­n and experience­s and seeks to find future solutions to promote free and fair trade that benefits developing as well as developed countries in addition to means of promoting developmen­t and reducing poverty. During the conference, preliminar­y informatio­n will be presented on the latest developmen­ts in the Doha negotiatio­ns, known as the “Doha Round”, trade negotiatio­ns of the World Trade Organisati­on (WTO), started in November 2001, aimed at realising the principle of free trade between the countries of the world.

z The Advisory (Shura) Council will also participat­e in the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP24) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), slated for tomorrow in Poland. (QNA)
