Court jails youth for bomb threats to flight, schools

-

A British court sentenced a young man to three years in prison yesterday after he admitted making bomb threats to thousands of schools and a plane en route to the United States. George Duke-Cohan, 19, pleaded guilty at Luton Magistrates Court to three counts of making hoax bomb threats that caused the evacuation of more than 400 British schools in March. Duke-Cohan also admitted pretending to US airport police, in a hoax phone call in August, that his daughter had told him she was a hostage on a United Airlines flight to San Francisco. The hoax call resulted in “a significant security operation” after the plane landed in San Francisco, Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) said earlier.
