Woqod opens Umm Ebairiya petrol station

Qatar Fuel, Woqod, yesterday opened Umm Ebairiya Petrol Station, the 80th such facility in the country.

Woqod CEO, engineer Saad Rashid al-Muhannadi, said: We are pleased to open new fixed petrol station in Umm Ebairiya. Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand.

He explained that Woqod has recently accelerate­d the process for the constructi­on of new petrol stations to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country.

“The Woqod team would like to extend their gratitude to all concerned government­al and private entities that contribute­d to the completion of this project.”

Umm Ebairiya Petrol Station is spread over an area of 7,500sqm and has three lanes with six dispensers. The facilities include a Sidra convenienc­e store, manual car wash, oil change and tyre repair, sale of LPG cylinders, in addition to sale of gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.

Al-Muhannadi pointed out that Woqod is currently overseeing the implementa­tion of 15 new petrol stations, most of which are expected to be operationa­l in 2019. Further, there are six stations in the bidding phase and 26 in the design phase.

“As part of its strategic expansion plan, Woqod is targeting the achievemen­t of a total of 130 fuel stations by the end of 2020,” he added.
