Court allows CBI request for Michel’s signatures

-

A Delhi court yesterday allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation’s plea seeking specimen signatures and handwriting samples of British national Christian Michel, the alleged middleman accused in the Rs36bn AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal. The CBI wanted the specimen signatures and handwriting samples to match them with documents already in its possession. Special Judge Arvind Kumar also allowed Michel’s plea seeking permission to speak to his wife. Michel’s lawyer had requested the court to allow his client to speak to his wife, manager and step-brother. But the CBI had raised objection and submitted its reasons on a piece of paper to the court. Currently, Michel is in CBI custody till December 15. He was extradited to India on December 4 from the United Arab Emirates.
