Armed man kills four, commits suicide in Brazil
An armed man yesterday opened fire during a service at a cathedral in south-eastern Brazil, shooting four people dead before killing himself, the newspapers O Globo and Folha de Sao Paulo reported. Three others were rushed to hospital from the cathedral in Campinas, a city of more than 1mn people in Sao Paulo state. They were reported to be in stable condition. The man fired indiscriminately with two pistols before committing suicide, reports said. The identities of the victims and the motive of the killer were not immediately known. “Most of the people who were there were retired people, innocent, and he fired at them all,” a guard at the church, said.
