Violations issued against food outlets

Al Daayan Municipali­ty’s Health Control Section conducted 253 inspection tours during April to ensure the safety of food products for consumers at various commercial outlets within its jurisdicti­on.

The inspection campaign resulted in issuing eight violation reports in accordance with law No 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control, 93 warnings and notificati­ons for different outlets to rectify their situation and eight affidavits signed by different outlets to maintain the set food health and safety regulation­s.

In addition, 10 food samples were taken to the laboratori­es for tests from different locations and outlets. One such sample gave negative results, and the legal procedures taken accordingl­y.

Due to the increasing food industry activities within the municipali­ty, 14 new food facilities and outlets were reviewed by the

section to issue them with new operation licences.

Similarly, Al Shammal Municipali­ty and Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipali­ty have conducted a broad inspection campaign at the Iftar sites and the places where Iftar meals are distribute­d separately at each municipali­ty.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Municipali­ty and Environmen­t in co-operation with the Doha Municipali­ty have removed an encroachme­nt on the stateowned property at Al Hilal Area, where a wall was erected to close a public corridor.
