-

Thundery rain is expected in some places today along with sudden strong winds and poor visibility, the Qatar Met department has said.

The weather report states that thundershowers and windy conditions are likely in offshore areas, too, along with high seas.

Sporadic rain was reported from some areas yesterday, accompanied by the occasional thunderstorm, especially in the southern parts. The Met department had earlier said there are chances of scattered light rain in the country until Tuesday.

Today’s detailed forecast says the wind speed may go up to 25 knots in both inshore and offshore areas today during thundery

rain, with the sea level rising to 8ft.

Cloudy conditions and scattered rain is expected inshore, which may become thundery in some places. Blowing dust is also likely at times.

Offshore areas will also see cloudy conditions today and there is a possibility of scattered rain, which may turn thundery occasionally.

Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 3km or less during the thundershowers.
