1,000 workers attend Qatar Charity’s Iftar table daily n Al-Shahaniya

Nearly 1,000 workers break their fast at the Iftar table organized by Qatar Charity in Al Shahaniya, place in Qatar with a large number of ngle labors. Qatar Charity seeks to crease the number of daily beneficiar­ies 1800 persons with the support from hilanthrop­ists in Qatar.

Mohsen Aidros, supervisor of the table aid, “Qatar Charity provides 1,000 meals beneficiar­ies. Other 300-500 meals are ceived from benefactor­s in the area,” ointing out that the Ramadan tent can ccommodate 1,800 people.

The meals provided by Qatar Charity clude rice and meat/chicken, in addition date, water, and juice, Aidros said, noting at other meals brought by philanthro­pists e very similar to those of Qatar Charity.

He further said more Iftar tables were eeded due to a large number of workers ving in the area, appealing to the enevolent to contribute to supporting atar Charity’s table to increase the umber of beneficiar­ies.

Qatar Charity’s Iftar table also witnesses the presence of volunteers on a daily basis. Mohammed Mohsen, a volunteer, comes from Bin Omar daily to contribute to organizing the table and providing services to fasting persons.

Volunteeri­ng is a very valuable work, and it gives an involved person a great sense of comfort and satisfacti­on, especially in Ramadan, a season of multiplyin­g rewards, said Mohsen.

Mahbub al-Rahman Abdul Rashid, an Islamic preacher, says, “I give lectures weekly on various Ramadan-related topics in the tent of Qatar Charity’s Iftar tables.” The lectures, which are given in Bengali and Urdu, focus on the lessons of Ramadan, the characters and manners of a Muslim, Abdul Rashid noted, pointing out that many non-Muslims also attend Qatar Charity’s Iftar Table.

Mr. Habib Owais, one of the beneficiar­ies of the table, said that he has been living in Al Shahaniya for two years and has been coming to Qatar Charity’s Iftar table to break the fast, thanking the donors and Qatar Charity for organizing such a table for workers.

For his part, Mr. Taha Ibrahim, another beneficiar­y of the Iftar Table, said, he always visited Qatar Charity’s Iftar table to break the fast during the six years he spent in Al Shahaniya, appreciati­ng the generous support from the benefactor­s in Qatar for holding such a big Iftar table for workers.
