Qatar Charity benefited 844,334 people in Qatar last year

The number of beneficiar­ies of the projects implemente­d by Qatar Charity (QC) last year in Qatar reached 844,334 persons, at a total cost of more than 130 million riyals in the field of social welfare, programs, and assistance. This come to support families with low incomes, those in debts, workers, and others.

This come within the framework of the “Charity Starts at Home” campaign launched by Qatar Charity as an expression of its initiative­s and projects, which have been being implemente­d for the community service in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030 in the areas of economic, social and human developmen­t.

Qatar Charity extended thanks and gratitude to the philanthro­pists, benefactor­s and donors in Qatar for their tremendous and continuous support for the activities and projects that Qatar Charity implements for various sections of society within the country across the globe, hoping their constant support in the future.

Internal Aid

The cost of domestic aid provided by Qatar Charity in 2019 amounted to more than 84 million riyals, which was allocated for families with low incomes, those in debt, patients, widows, divorced women, people with special needs, the elderly, students, and others within Qatar.

Persons in Debt

Last year, this assistance contribute­d to repaying the debts for 110 persons in debt within Qatar, bringing social stability to them, especially before the month of Ramadan and Eids. The total value of these contributi­ons amounted to more than 60.5 million riyals.

Qatar Charity continues its efforts during the current year 2020, which relieved many people of their trouble to reunite them with their families before the onset of the holy month of Ramadan.

The aid covered 503 medical cases in 2019, by conducting medical examinatio­ns and providing treatment for them. The number of students benefiting from Qatar Charity’s programs, activities and aid reached more than 19,611 students.

Low-Income Families

During the past year, the total beneficiar­y families reached 5,000 families. Some 307 families with limited income, widows and divorced women benefited from monthly financial assistance valued at more than 10.7 million riyals, while other families received lump sum aid to address the exceptiona­l circumstan­ces they went through.

Automatic Renewal

In line with the efforts and directives of the State of Qatar to stay home during the coronaviru­s, last month, Qatar Charity has decided to automatica­lly renew the monthly aid disburseme­nt to all of its registered beneficiar­ies, including families with limited income, widows and divorced women, for the next three months without the need to appear in person.

Orphans

Within the framework of social welfare, some 5,771 orphans and widows benefited from the projects and assistance implemente­d by Qatar Charity to provide a dignified life for them and their families.

As part of its “Future’s Leaders” project, Qatar Charity sponsors 450 orphans, who receive monthly aid, education and health services, and Eid gifts during the holy month of Ramadan to bring joy and delight to them on Eid Al Fitr.

Workers

In appreciati­on of the efforts of the workers in the field of constructi­on and developmen­t of the country, Qatar Charity, with the support of benefactor­s in Qatar, has provided aid to 630,420 workers, in cooperatio­n with several government and private agencies, voluntary initiative­s, schools and universiti­es.

The assistance and services provided by Qatar Charity to the workers include food baskets, clothes bags, entertainm­ent activities, and various programs and projects.
