More repatriation flights for Indians
The Indian embassy yesterday announced it now has an indication of the non-Kerala destinations approved for the next round of repatriation flights from Qatar after the Eid holidays. They are Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Amritsar, the mission tweeted. Further details are awaited from Delhi. Those who want to be repatriated have been urged to register on the embassy website if they have not done so already and before the registration closes. Data in the indicated format is required for approval of the repatriation request, according to another tweet. “There is no use sending emails repeatedly to the embassy without registering on the website and providing the details requested in the form,” it was pointed out in yet another tweet yesterday.
One more flight took off from Doha yesterday — IX 0822 for Bengaluru — as part of the Indian repatriation mission. This was the eighth flight from the country operated as part of the Indian government’s Vande Bharat mission, “bringing the number of repatriated passengers from Qatar to 1,374, plus 45 infants”, the Indian embassy tweeted yesterday. One more flight is scheduled in this phase — AI 972 for Gaya at 6pm on May 24, with a technical halt in Delhi. Pictured are Bengalurubound passengers at Hamad International Airport yesterday.
