-

Mowasalat has stressed that it has taken the necessary precautionary measures in preparation for transporting students for the final examinations.

Secondary students are scheduled to write their final examinations from today. A video posted on Twitter yesterday highlighted the school bus safety measures taken by Mowasalat. These are as follows:

„ ■ Disinfecting the bus before duty.

„ ■ Following the standard procedure of washing and cleaning.

„ ■ Placement of posters for safety reminders.

„ ■ Social distancing inside the bus.

„ ■ Ensuring the safety of children’s transport needs.

Officials from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) had earlier provided advice to secondary students who will write the examinations about overcoming extreme stress and anxiety associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. In a statement on Saturday, HMC officials had also stressed that all government organisations had taken the necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students.

All efforts have been made to ensure that the exams are written in a safe environment and stringent health and safety measures have been put in place, they noted.

On its part, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education recently said it had completed its preparations and taken all precautionary measures to start the examinations of the end of the second semester of the general and specialised Secondary School Certificate for the academic year 2019/2020 on June 1. The exams will continue until June 13.

About 11,500 students will take exams this year, spread over 149 sites, according to a report.
