Moments to cherish at Qatari Song Night
The second edition of the Qatari Song Night, organised by the Music Affairs Center at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, concluded yesterday following some mesmerising performances and moments to cherish.
The two-day event took place at Al Mayassa Theatre, Qatar National Convention Centre, with the participation of distinguished Qatari and Arab artistes.
The show featured the song,
Lissalam (For peace), written by HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali and composed by musician Matar Ali alKuwari. It was performed by Fahad al-Kubaisi and Eisa alKubaisi. Eisa al-Kubaisi had said in a previous statement that “this work presents a human vision about the importance of peace and the tolerance of Islam; and the role of the institution of the mosque in improving humanity, its principles and values. It addresses the feelings and provides the blissful message of peace for all humanity”.
He stressed that the Qatari Song Night will contribute to reiterating that music is a cultural form that has a human and civilisational dimension. A number of Qatari artistes
were also honoured during the event for their contributions to the Qatari musical scene over the years with their distinguished works. They are Hamed al-Namaa, Mohamed
Rashed, Dr Marzouq Bashir and Saqr Salih, a pioneer in the field of Qatari songs. All Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures were followed during the event.
