Mazda tops Consumer Reports’ 2021 ranking for the first time ever
Mazda just topped Consumer Reports’ 2021 annual ranking of the most reliable automotive brands for the first time ever, National Car Company (NCC), the sole agent for Mazda vehicles in Qatar for more than four decades, announced yesterday.
Mazda topped the list followed by other premium and non-luxury brands who have led the ranking in the previous years, it was explained in a statement.
To determine the rankings, Consumer Reports buys vehicles anonymously from dealerships for road testing. It conducts tests for braking, handling, comfort, convenience, safety, and fuel economy, and includes survey responses from Consumer Reports subscribers in its analysis.
Each year more than 250 models compete for the hearts, minds, and driveways of American car shoppers. Consumer Reports rank the new models which they buy and evaluate based on regimented performance tests and survey results from their members.
Delighted at the news of Mazda’s latest achievement, Sathish Nair – marketing and sales manager, Mazda-Qatar said: “The top ranking by Consumer Reports is a recognition of Mazda’s human centric approach in building cars that provide the ‘Joy of Effortless Driving’ to millions of Mazda customers all over the world. Our team at National Car Company always strive to deliver exceptional customer experience while offering Mazda’s premium product line-up to ensure that the customer perceives a value beyond the product.”
The latest of the Mazda sedan, SUV and retractable fastback models are available on display at the state-of-the-art NCC showroom located at Al Nasr, Doha. Mazda’s path breaking SKYACTIV family of technologies lifts performance to new heights and delivers sheer driving pleasure at the same time.
Mazda is constantly looking for ways to increase the efficiency of its engines without sacrificing performance. While most of the automotive world has given up on innovating the internal combustion engine, Mazda believes there is still room for improvement. It is this obsession with squeezing more efficiency through continuous improvements that has led to some of Mazda’s most prolific breakthroughs.
Mazda’s unwavering commitment to making vehicles that thrill and delight is evident in the driving dynamics derived from the confident inspiring iACTIV AWD which is far ahead in technology and performance than any contemporary crossover SUV.
The assurance of i-ACTIV allwheel drive comes through its sensors, which considers factors like steering angle, throttle inputs and wheel-spin along with temperature and use of wipers to paint a clear picture of the outside conditions. i-ACTIV all-wheel drive can adjust power output more than 200 times per second, using 27 different variables, to “predict” what the road conditions look like. The Kodo – Soul Motion design, breathing life into the car, has been redefined by strengthening the low, wide expression of the evolved Mazda identity. Mazda has settled on ‘refined toughness’ as a keyword and challenged themselves to elevate the Kodo concept to a new level. Inspired by traditional Japanese crafts, Mazda has pursued minimalist aesthetics – less is more concept – free of all non-essential elements. The result is a bold and premium-looking exterior, and an interior that gives all occupants a pleasant feeling.
In line with Mazda’s human-centric approach to building cars, the five-seat, crossover CX30 has a feeling of oneness that extends beyond the drive. The human-centric cockpit helps the driver feel connected with the vehicle but is not isolating from the other occupants. A focus on interior comfort and everyday user-friendliness makes this allnew compact crossover a car for everyone.
With an inviting cabin, the engineers have strived to preserve the peaceful environment by focusing on the noise, vibration, and harshness.
Every aspect of the CX-30 was measured, from the tyres to the headliner, to minimise any road noise. After a comprehensive study on how sounds are transmitted through the vehicle’s cabin, speakers are repositioned depending on their frequency to produce a better sound.
All CX-30s are equipped with a four-cylinder Skyactiv-G 2.0 paired with a quick-shifting Skyactiv-Drive 6 speed automatic transmission. This engine provides class leading power output of 155ps at 6,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
The compact crossover is equipped with Mazda’s new off-road traction assist feature, which can potentially help the driver when adventuring on uneven terrain. G-Vectoring Control Plus and front-wheel drive are standard, while Mazda’s predictive i-Activ all-wheel drive is available on higher trim levels.
The top-trim CX-30 Premium includes a windshield-projected Active Driving Display, leather seats, power liftgate, power moonroof, Adaptive Front Lighting system, paddle shifters, and LED Signature illumination headlights and taillights.
The 2021 model year next generation Mazda CX-5 is now available in Qatar re-emphasising Mazda’s dream of delivering an SUV which breaks through the traditional trade-off between driving pleasure and passenger comfort.
The All New CX5 comes with a Skyactiv-G 2.5 direct-injection gasoline engine. paired with the six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic-manual transmission.
These powertrains provide powerful acceleration delivering power output of 187hp@ 5,700rpm and torque of 250Nm@ 5000rpm (AWD).
Most adorable and time-tested seven-seat SUV Mazda CX-9 is the ultimate blend of stunning sophistication and family SUV. It is the very first Mazda to feature the breakthrough Skyactiv-G 2.5T petrol engine.
The innovative Dynamic Pressure Turbo adjusts boost pressure and airflow according to engine speed to overcome traditional problems such as turbo lag.
Mazda CX-9 Signature grade comes with sophisticated and luxurious interior having Auburn Nappa Leather seating surfaces, a hand-stitched, leather-wrapped “chidori” steering wheel, new Santos rosewood interior trim and supplemental interior lighting around the transmission shifter.
In addition, newly available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration allows access to Smartphone’s maps, playlists, contacts, and compatible apps with voice controlled personal assistant which will also read incoming text messages and allow reply without taking hands off the wheel. Everything is a tap or voice command away.
Mazda CX-9 High Plus features a new 7-inch TFT reconfigurable gauge cluster display, ventilated driver and passenger seats, new power-folding door mirrors, frameless day and night rear view mirror and a new 360° View Monitor, adding to the comfort and convenience taking the customer expectations to a new level.
