QU conference discusses online teaching and learning
Qatar University’s College of Engineering (QUCENG) and College of Education (QU-CEDU) kicked off the Education, Engineering Education and Instruction Technology Conference (EEEITC 21) yesterday. The three-day conference with the theme ‘Online Teaching and Learning: Towards Building a Better Future’ is sponsored by Dolphin Energy.
QU president, Dr Hassan alDerham said, “EEEITC-21 will cover plenary sessions and main lectures on several topics related to engineering and technical education. We expect that this conference will provide a forum for exchanging technical information, disseminating high-quality research results, and presenting new policies and scientific progress in these areas”.

QU-CEDU dean, Prof Ahmed Abdulrahman Emadi, said, “The aim of this conference is to gather local and international experts, educators, faculty members and researchers to share their experiences and research results on all aspects of education and the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning online. It also provides a multidisciplinary platform for academics and researchers to present and discuss the latest trends and concerns as well as practical challenges in developing and implementing innovative educators in education”.
“The conference will include lectures by keynote speakers and invitees, presentations and posters from the participants. Proceedings of the conference and high-quality papers will also be published in internationally refereed journals,” said, QU-CENG dean, Dr Khalid Kamal Naji.
According to CENG associate dean, Academic Affairs, Prof Abdelmagid Hamouda “Artificial intelligence has the potential to accelerate the process of achieving the global education goals through reducing barriers to access learning, automating management processes, and optimising methods in order to improve learning outcomes. The conference supports the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goal which will be discussed across a range of professional fields, including the education sector.”
“The conference will bring together leading local and international experts, teachers, faculty staff and researchers to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of education and use of technology enhance learning in education and online education,” commented, Dr Ahmed Abdulrahman Megreya, QU-CEDU associate dean, Research & Graduate Studies.
“The EEEITC 21 organising committee welcomes papers from a wide variety of multidisciplinary and theoretical/conceptual perspectives, and submissions will be organised into the following topics and subtopics: Technology Design, Pedagogy and Curriculum, Policy and Leadership, University-Industry Collaboration,” Dr Wadha Labda, head, CENG Technology Innovation and Engineering Education Unit added.
