Virtual seminar today on common traffic mistakes

The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in co-ordination with Traffic Awareness Department under the General Directorat­e of Traffic will organise today a virtual awareness seminar on common traffic mistakes among drivers. The seminar, from 9pm-10.30pm, is for members of the Indian community through Zoom and the general public on a first-come, firstserve basis. The event is part of the ‘Safe Ramadan Campaign’ to raise awareness on road safety. Officers from the Traffic Department will be sharing informatio­n about red signal crossing, seatbelt safety, risks of using mobile phone while driving, smart traffic signals, Covid-19 protocols while driving, traffic statistics for the year 2020, overtaking from right, traffic surveillan­ce cameras, minor accidents, yellow box at intersecti­ons, risks of speeding, tips for safe driving during the holy month of Ramadan, safety at signals, safe track on the road and pedestrian safety. The admission to the seminar is restricted for the first 1,000 persons. The event will be an opportunit­y to interact with officers from the Traffic Department, and clear doubts related to traffic safety and functions of the Traffic Directorat­e.
