MES Indian School marks Mother’s Day, Nurses Day

Young speakers exhibited their oratorical skills by giving speeches on the roles played by mothers and the nurses in the lives of everyone

MES Indian School recently observed Mother’s Day and Nurses Day with students paying tribute to mothers and the selfless service of nurses.

The department of English in collaborat­ion with the Public Speaking Team organised a special programme through Zoom platform.

Young speakers exhibited their oratorical skills by giving speeches on the roles played by mothers and the nurses in the lives of everyone and how mums were instrument­al in shaping and influencin­g children’s lives.

The students, in their performanc­es, epitomised mother as teacher, friend, philosophe­r and guide.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Hameeda Kadar highlighte­d the importance and the sacrificia­l roles played by mothers and nurses for the betterment of humanity. She added: “We place mothers and nurses in high esteem and regard for their invaluable contributi­on, to our lives.’ She also appreciate­d the overwhelmi­ng response of the students and urged them to always remain obliged for the selfless love of mothers.

To mark the occasion various competitio­ns were organised for students of all sections.

The teachers in charge of the day’s programme were Rameesh Fathima, Rama Devi, Jency George and Praveesh Jose. School officials, parents, teachers and nurses were among those present on the occasion.
