Brazil’s Senate okays bill banning drug price hikes

Brazil’s Senate has approved a bill that would forbid drug makers from raising prices in 2021, as the country battles the world’s second-deadliest coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic after the United States.

The bill will next pass to the lower house of Congress for consideration.

Brazil has registered more than 15.4 million cases since the pandemic began.
