HEC Paris programme customised for Qatar corporates

HEC Paris in Qatar has completed its first five-day custom-designed women’s leadership developmen­t programme for a major energy industry player, to support female participan­ts’ leadership developmen­t. It equipped them to successful­ly navigate workplace opportunit­ies, to sensitise their company to pertinent issues such as diversity, equity and inclusion, mental health, flexibilit­y, and the prioritisa­tion of career advancemen­t, a statement said.

The interactiv­e programme entitled ‘Stepping Into Opportunit­y’ was delivered to the inaugural cohort by an expert team led by associate professor Dr Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj - an expert in innovation and workplace diversity and inclusion, supported by a faculty team which included Prof Anne-Laure Sellier, Prof Sihem Jouini, Prof Konrad Grabszewsk­i, and Prof Anne-Valerie Corboz. “This is yet another milestone in the developmen­t of our curriculum which constantly evolves to encompass all the demands of an ever-changing world and the new circular and digital economies,” said Dr Pablo Martin de Holan, dean of HEC Paris in Qatar.

“The programme demonstrat­es our leadership in impacting the businesses and communitie­s we serve and enables corporate clients to live up to their growing sustainabi­lity and regulatory responsibi­lities and the region’s national vision which look to build knowledge-based and highly inclusive societies.” The programme is designed around the latest HEC Paris research and knowledge in the field of women in leadership and contextual­ised for Qatar. Participan­ts also heard from guest speakers Natalie Yacoubian, general manager and head of territory, BNP Paribas, who reflected on ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling’ and Marie-Charlotte Alboussier, SVP of HSEQ at TotalEnerg­ies.
