Sudan confirms support, assistance for Qatar in hosting FIFA World Cup

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of the government of Sudan, underlined its support and assistance for Qatar in hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, pointing out that such a major global sporting event is organised for the first time in the Arab region. In a statement, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded the level of preparations, arrangements and distinguished efforts made by Qatar to have a successful football World Cup.

In addition, the statement condemned the malicious smear and scepticism campaigns that target Qatar’s hosting of this event, indicating that Qatar’s hosting of this vital global event is a privilege for the host nation and all Arab countries, affirming that the government of Sudan is fully ready to support Qatar in all fields required for the success of these events.
