Names of three winners of the 2nd edition of the Katara cartoon competitio­n announced

Katara – The Cultural Village Foundation has announced the names of three winners of the 2nd Katara Prize for Cartoon Competitio­n, out of 404 contestant­s who submitted 1,005 entries.

The competitio­n was from October 5 to November 25, with the theme being sports and football.

First place winner was Evan David from the Czech Republic, with a prize of $5,000.

The second place went to Amar Salem Dawoud from Iraq with a prize of $4,000.

The third place went to Khathar Hassan Habib from Egypt, with a prize of $3,000.

As part of Katara’s activities accompanyi­ng the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, an exhibition of sports caricature­s will be held.

It will include the most beautiful 50 submission­s to the 2nd Katara Prize for Cartoon Competitio­n.

The first edition of the competitio­n was launched during the period from June 20 to August 15, 2020, and was themed on the experience of work and distance education during the height of the novel coronaviru­s (Covid-19) pandemic.

It saw the participat­ion of 506 contestant­s from 48 counties, including 17 Arab countries.
