Cetaaq Professionals’ Super Cup 2022 held
The ‘Cetaaq Professionals’ Super Cup 2022’, a Sevens football tournament organised over two days recently among 15 professional colleges by the Qatar Chapter of the Alumni Association of College of Engineering, Thiruvanathapuram (Cetaaq), concluded with Al Ameen Engineering College winning the trophy and cash prize.
In the first-of-its-kind tournament, held to show solidarity with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the second and third places were won by TKM Engineering College, Kollam, and MES Engineering College, Kuttipuram, respectively.
Qatar Football Association (QFA) representative, Abdul Aziz Vallil, was the chief guest at the inaugural event.
Indian Sports Centre president Dr Mohan Thomas was the guest of honour. Community leader K M Varghese offered felicitations. Cetaaq chairman Thomas K G spoke. General secretary Fairs Ibrahim welcomed the gathering and tournament convener Nikhil
Dev proposed a vote of thanks.
In the closing ceremony, former FIFA referee C Sethumadhavan was the chief guest and Indian Business and Professionals Council president Jaffar Us Sadiq was the guest of honour. A band performance by the Argentina Fans Association members, variety competitions and fun events for families made the event a colourful carnival.
