Qatar ‘reaping efforts of years of sound planning and work’: DPM
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah has affirmed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 represents the result of more than 10 years of sound planning, effort and work.
He said in an exclusive statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Qatar has worked during the past years to organise a unique edition of the World Cup.
HE Dr al-Attiyah added that the Qatari citizen, with full faith in God and full confidence in the government, was able to see the results of the efforts made during the past years.
He also expressed happiness and pride that the World Cup coincided with the celebration of the National Day of Qatar.
HE Dr al-Attiyah said that the government was able to combine two important events – the National Day (on December 18) and the World Cup – through diligent work and proper planning.
He thanked everyone who contributed to this global event. – QNA
