Shura calls for joint Arab action in Cairo meetings

With the participat­ion of the Shura Council, the meetings of the permanent committees of the Arab Parliament began in Cairo yesterday, in preparatio­n for the second meeting of the third session of the third legislativ­e term of the parliament to be held tomorrow.

The Shura Council is represente­d in the meetings by its members Sheikha bint Yousuf al-Jufairi, Issa bin Ahmed al-Nasr, Salem bin Rashid al-Meraikhi, and Hamad bin Abdullah al-Mulla, who are also members of the Arab Parliament.

The permanent committees in which the Council participat­es include the social, educationa­l, cultural, women and youth committee, the Palestine committee, the economic and financial affairs committee, and the legislativ­e, legal and human rights affairs committee. Over two days, the committees will review a number of reports and topics on the agenda to promote and develop joint Arab action in the political, economic, social, cultural, legislativ­e and legal fields, in addition to ways to confront related challenges, as well as developmen­ts in the occupied Palestinia­n territorie­s.

During the first day’s meetings, the members of the Shura Council expressed their strong rejection and denunciati­on of the malicious and systematic campaigns

 ?? ?? targeting the State of Qatar to undermine its right to host and organise the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, expressing their astonishme­nt at the neglect and silence of the Speaker of the Arab Parliament regarding these campaigns.
The members affirmed the Shura Council’s keenness on strengthen­ing joint Arab action, improving relations between the Arab countries and bringing their brotherly peoples closer together, in a way that achieves their hopes and aspiration­s for fraternity and mutual support to face all the challenges and difficulti­es facing the progress of the Arab countries.
