The open market bears the legacy of fishing and pearl trade. The souq also houses a variety of restaurants, cafes, shops and kiosks. Eateries at Souq Al Wakra have extended the working hours until 2am. Many opt to watch the World Cup at restaurants here, which overlook the beach and picnic spots.
