Souvenir photos, street art, Amazing Bubbles show delight audiences at Katara
Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation’s activities accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 continue to take visitors on a daily tour of joy, excitement and surprise.
The art, culture and authenticity of the Qatari heritage are being explored by visitors at the different exhibitions hosted by Katara, such as the “Football and Art” fine art and collectibles exhibition, the “World Cup Postage Stamps” exhibition, and the “Sports Caricature” exhibition, in addition to artistic, musical, theatrical and heritage performances presented at the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival, which embodies the maritime heritage.
The Street Art Festival – across the corridors of Katara – presents visual activities rich in creativity and bright aesthetic values, embodying strong and exciting visual platforms that directly reach the hearts of the audience and appeal to their artistic sense, a press statement notes.
It is a unique opportunity for artists to perform freely individually or collectively before thousands of visitors and tourists.
These include open shows that are not limited to a specific art, such as free drawing, puppet shows, acrobatics, dancing, singing and playing music.
On the other hand, Katara’s “exciting and dazzling performances and exceptional atmosphere”, which are presented through musical fountain shows with their reflective lights, vibrant colours and melodies, have also been a key attraction.
These happy and special moments are being captured through video clips and memorable photographs.
The “Photograph Corner” event allows World Cup fans to participate in an interactive photo session that gives them unforgettable moments to cherish their visit to Qatar and attend the activities of Katara.
Audiences at Katara have also been treated to a wonderful international show, Amazing Bubbles, held at Al Hikma Square over two days at 5pm and 7pm.
The show by a group of performing artistes in distinctive clothes attracted the attention of children and inspired their world of imagination.
