Qatar World Cup infrastructure, facilities outstanding: Italian footballer Del Piero
Del Piero noted that he was not bothered by the criticisms about the organisation of the World Cup in Qatar. “Such things happen every time a World Cup is about to take place. I am glad that I am here in person to see the games, almost all the games. It is a unique experience for everyone participating in the tournament”
The infrastructure and the facilities at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 are not just excellent but outstanding, noted former Italian footballer, Alessandro Del Piero, who was part of the Italian squad that won the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
“The stadiums are absolutely outstanding and stunning and the facilities are fantastic. The designs of the stadiums are excellent and beautiful with fine seating arrangements. The accommodation and other facilities are world-class,” Del Piero told Gulf Times. “This is the scene where great football can happen. The city is very welcoming and beautiful and great football games are taking place here. What is happening now is a great tournament for several reasons and it is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to enjoy the beauty of football,” he continued.
Del Piero noted that he was not bothered by the criticisms about the organisation of the World Cup in Qatar. “Such things happen every time a World Cup is about to take place. I am glad that I am here in person to see the games, almost all the games. It is a unique experience for everyone participating in the tournament. I am quite happy to explore different cultures and know more about other parts of the world,” he explained.
Recollecting his World Cup memories and winning the World Cup, Del Piero said that they are the most amazing and thrilling moments in his life. “As a footballer, it is the ultimate dream of a player to represent his country in the World Cup. You put yourself in another position and get completely transformed and winning the World Cup was the dream come true,” he highlighted. Del Piero said that the 2022 tournament has started with some spectacular games and there are already some potential underdogs who can upset some of the most fancied teams.
“Some underdogs have emerged as potential threat to the celebrated teams as in many other World Cups. This has happened in several World Cup games. When the first round is completed and when the line up for the elimination round is ready, we will have an idea how it will progress,” he added.
