Poetry evening held at Darb Al Saai

Qatar poetry centre “Diwan Al Arab” held a poetry evening at Darb Al Saai within a series of the cultural symposiums associated with the events and celebrations of Qatar National Day, which falls on December 18 every year. The evening was opened by poets Mubarak al-Khalifa, Zayed bin Cruz and Hadi bin Saif, with a wide range of poems, including patriotic ones. The director of the centre, poet Shabib bin Arar al-Nuaimi, said the centre’s participation in the events of the National Day aims to promote the spirit of values, ethics and national identity via literature through the distinguished poems recited by poets, adding that the centre will hold six poetry evenings as well as a symposium that addresses the poem and role of poets in the community with the participation of an elite of senior poets in the community.
