The Min­istry of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions ( MOTC) and IT Ser­vices and So­lu­tions provider MEEZA signed an agree­ment by which the lat­ter will pro­vide cloud and in­fras­truc­ture ser­vices for govern­ment en­ti­ties in Qatar.

This comes within the min­istry's plans for achiev­ing the strate­gic ob­jec­tives of the Qatar Dig­i­tal Govern­ment 2020 Strat­egy, which aims at cre­at­ing efficiency in govern­ment ad­min­is­tra­tion, max­i­miz­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties to make bet­ter use of pub­lic funds in ac­cor­dance with Qatar Na­tional Vi­sion 2030.

“The Min­istry of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions con­tin­ues its ef­forts to­wards achiev­ing the QDG 2020 vi­sion by find­ing out about in­no­va­tive so­lu­tions and enabling the govern­ment en­ti­ties to achieve their goals,” said Has­san Jas­sim Al Sayed, MOTC's As­sis­tant Un­der­sec­re­tary of Govern­ment In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy Sec­tor.

He added: “Cloud com­put­ing ser­vices, provided in as­so­ci­a­tion with MEEZA, aim at in­creas­ing the op­er­a­tional efficiency of the IT in­fras­truc­ture and re­duc­ing op­er­a­tional costs at govern­ment en­ti­ties.”
