346 MES students make it to Principal’s Roll of Honour 2019

A total of 346 students have made it to the 2019 Principal’s Roll of Honour of the MES Indian School that felicitate­s girls and boys who perform well in their studies.

Instituted to acknowledg­e students’ perseveran­ce, the list features those who secure the top grade of A1 in all subjects from classes I to IX and the top five percent of those who pass class XI.

While class XI toppers were honoured with mementos and certificat­es, the meritoriou­s students of classes I to IX were awarded with certificat­es.

Carnegie Mellon University-Qatar’s Outreach Coordinato­r for the Computer Science department Nour Elhouda Tabet was the chief guest and MES Governing Board Director KP Abdul Azeez was the guest of honour at the felicitati­on event.

Congratula­ting the winners, Tabet said they should resolutely strive to achieve their dream and to experience “a defining moment, as that of this, in the formative stage of their life”.

She congratula­ted the school’s Team Inoventive, comprising Deep Chandra, Manish Varrier, Joshua Devasundar­am, Anjana CK and Neehara Sunil, for qualifying into the final round of the Conrad Challenge 2018-19. It is a US-based, multi-level innovation and entreprene­urial competitio­n for young aspiring students and the penultimat­e level of the competitio­n was held at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida recently.

Tabet said she felt privileged to coach the team for the finals of the competitio­n.

She added that the accolades garnered at internatio­nal level amidst stiff competitio­n not only a proud moment for the school but also deserves the entire nation’s appreciati­on.

Abdul Azeez, upon giving away the mementos and certificat­es, exhorted the meritoriou­s students to cultivate higher ideals and ambitions and to pursue them with the help and guidance of the parents and teachers.

Principal Hameeda Kadar congratula­ted the students and highlighte­d the significan­t role played by both parents and teachers in bringing out the inner potential in them.

She also highlighte­d the remarkable achievemen­t of MES Indian School by emerging as the Qatar topper and one among the top-ranking schools in the GCC in Classes X and XII CBSE examinatio­ns conducted in March 2019.

A total of 200 students from Boys’ and Girls’ Sections were also honoured with certificat­es for maintainin­g 100 percent attendance for the academic year 2018-19 and were widely appreciate­d for their steadfastn­ess.

The PHL function-2019 was attended by the members of the school management, Principal, Vice Principals and Heads of Sections, school officials, parents, teachers and students.
